Abstract

There have been many pioneers in the field of bone tissue engineering and they admit that in carrying out bone augmentation, autograft is the gold standard because of mesenchymal stem cell¡¯s ability to create new bone. According to a study by Choukroun¡¯s and colleagues, Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) is a new bio-scaffold material enmeshing the immune and platelet cytokines in the fibrin network. PRF is polymerized so naturally and slowly that it has a favorable structure to support a successful bone formation / (re)generation as well. If another plastic tube, not coated silica is used, plasma and buffy coat can be obtained in the state of liquid after centrifugation. Graft material which is mixed with plasma and buffy coat in the state of liquid probably has almost all the physiological components to support in bone formation. This paper will introduce a new surgical technique using 2 different types of plastic tube in GBR.
